Troran Brown is a 188 cm point guard who can score in various ways and is capable of playing major minutes at both guard position. He is an unselfish guard who posses incredible ability to create his own shot in one-on-one play, open court, and ball screen situations. In addition, he reads defense well and can easily get to his “sweet spots” on the floor. Troran is an exceptional 3-point shooter, which makes him a real offensive threat. He has the “old school” off-the-dribble pull-up game that is one of his go-to weapons. Because he is bouncy with the ball and jabs, he can create his own space for his shot. Troran’s passes out of pick and roll trap or full-court trap are precise and on-target, as he uses pass fakes and does not panic. Because of his versatility, size, and competitive nature, he is a solid defender.

During 2016/2017 season, Troran played for last year’s Swiss champions, Fribourg. The team won the regular season and Super Cup and lost in semi-finals of the playoffs. He averaged 9 points per game with 48% shooting from the field and 33% behind the 3-point line. His best games came versus top opponents. Against Neuchâtel Troran scored 23 points and versus Geneva he had 16 points. These two wins helped Fribourg win the regular season title.

Until the end of the 2016 regular season, Troran played for OKK Spars-Sarajevo in the Bosnian top league. OKK Spars finished 2nd in the regular season and his teammates were Bosnian National Team players: Kenan Bajramovic (PF), Dalibor Persic (SG), Nikola Gajic (F), and many U20 and U18 Bosnian National Team players. As a starter in 18 minutes of play, he averaged 11 points per game, and shot 67% from the field and 45% from behind the 3-point line. He was named Import of the Year and Honorable Mention in Bosnian top league.

Prior to his rookie season, Troran was a two-time NCAA II All-American and a two-time Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year during his college career at The University of Montevallo (UM). At UM, he played for one of the top NCAA II programs and a great coach, Danny Young. During his three years at the UM, he averaged 19 points and 6 assists per game, and helped the team win three conference titles. Since the UM has been known as one of the premier NCAA II programs in the nation, Troran got many opportunities to compete against the top high major programs. Versus The University of Kentucky, Troran scored 30 points; against Purdue University, he scored 17 points; in the game against The University of Mississippi, Troran had 21 points; and versus The University of Alabama, he scored 24 points. In June 2015, Troran was a part of the Milwaukee Bucks’ pre-draft workout.
